We first heard of the need for a new building for an orphanage in Myanmar through friends who had a burden and desire to help. That was in May 2018, and the rainy season was just beginning -- bringing torrential tropical showers throughout the land. The orphanage was flooded, due to a new housing estate being built on higher ground encircling their compound, causing the water to drain down, flooding the 1-storey orphanage. The children had to be evacuated as the waters rose several feet, and their beds and all the furniture were damaged.  The pastor had to find alternative accommodation for the kids, and fast!

 

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Partnership has its privileges, and by joining hands with SEAPC and our generous donors, we were able to send HK$500,000 for the orphanage project. The goal was to build a 3-storey center with 5 classrooms, 6 dorms for the 70 kids, 5 dorms for the teachers, 5 rooms for guests, and a medical clinic.

 

The pastor was able to purchase a plot of land that had better drainage, praise the Lord! Now the kids need not worry about the rainy season and the floods that occur just about every year! A New Weatherproof Construction is underway and the project should be completed by mid- Sept. EHC Asia is blessed to be a part of this project through the generosity of its donors! GOD IS GOOD!
